Apple Grove School has always celebrated the uniqueness of each & every student. The aim of this institution never was, and should never be, to produce crammers. Therefore, the school offers several opportunities to students to encourage them to make & learn from mistakes, feel empathy and gain confidence.

The coursework for each of the subjects have been carefully & progressively prepared. The experience thus offered to each student is enriching, value adding & makes most of their formative years.

Kindergarten

(Pre-Nursery to UKG)

The Kindergarten experience at Apple Grove School is interdisciplinary, progressive, fun and one that keeps children close to nature. The environment & pace of study is very child-centric and offers a lot of opportunities for experiential learning.

In these formative years it is important that their curiosity is acknowledged, encouraged and kept alive. Every important facet of your child’s development is addressed by the broad range of our curriculum.

English Language & Literacy

Language & literacy are major domain for early childhood development. Language development involves the development of skills used to communicate with others through languages.

For language & literacy, reading & writing skills are required. They include awareness of sounds of language, formation of writing and phonetics. Language helps children to express their thoughts, ideas and to communicate with others through their own expressions.

Literary foundation is built by literacy activities - by talking, singing, writing, drawing through which a child expresses his feelings and thoughts.

Motor Skills Development

The stages of motor learning are the cognitive phase, the associative phase, and the autonomous phase.

  • Cognitive phase – When a learner is new to a specific task, the primary thought process starts with, "What needs to be done?"

  • Associative phase – The learner has determined the most-effective way to do the task and starts to make subtle adjustments in performance. Improvements are more gradual and movements become more consistent.

  • Autonomous phase – This phase may take several months to years to reach. The phase is dubbed "autonomous" because the performer can now "automatically" complete the task without having to pay any attention to performing it. Examples include walking and talking or sight reading while doing simple arithmetic.

Discovering the world

Being an explorer is a lifelong skill - the sooner it is inculcated in the students, the better.

From conducting mystery color experiments to audio visual learning; from learning what dissolves in water to learning about density by conducting experiments on the state of matter - a plethora of opportunities for the young turks!

Hindi Language & Literacy

Hindi is among the oldest languages discovered by mankind. The curriculum introduces Consonants & Hindi vowels in Pre-Nursery itself.

Well prepared worksheets act as a rich source to encourage creativity and skills.

Aesthetics & Creative Expression

Education is not constrained only by traditional learning. Creative activities promote curiosity and cultivate their imagination. It makes learning fun for your child.

Through drawing, children share what they feel and think. Apple Grove School promotes the art of self-expression by making a creative space for the students to create their own masterpieces.

Additionally, one must encourage the habit of crafting as its self-expression in 3D. Encouraging your child to explore a variety of art materials however they want, with all the craft material eg. Popsicle sticks, paper, cardboard.

Singing

Singing is one of the many ways they learn. Music & singing is an integral part of Kindergarten program at Apple Grove School. We bring learning to children through songs.

Quieter children also find singing a wonderful emotional release mechanism and it is a great form of self-expression.

Singing is the most effective way for children to learn.

Personal, Social & Emotional Development

Kindergarten helps your child to set the stage for self development, education, skills to perform in every sphere.  Kindergarten is a platform to provide your child with opportunities to learn and practice interaction and social problem solving which he will require in his schooling.

This course teaches cooperation, patience and a habit to share & listen to others. Kindergarten is a time to spark a child's curiosity and create interest in learning in a way he will always retain.

Social & emotional development is just as important for a successful school experience as cognitive development. Kindergarten is a particularly important period for this area of development. Its where the foundation skills for appropriate social behavior are learned and embedded.

Mathematics

Kindergarten math students will be learning foundation skills in each of the basic math concepts. In the beginning, they will start with understanding about objects and their properties. They will learn to recognize patterns and properties which are in the algebraic construct.

In arithmetic, children are taught in very early days itself the concepts of quantity, greater than and less than along with mastering counting.

One of the important learning objective is to ensure that they will learn not to confuse order with quantity. They will also learn to recognize the basic geometric shapes and understand greater and less than in terms of geometric shapes, quantities, size and other comparisons.
